Ive thought about retiring outside of the US many times. My biggest fear (should I ever do it) is if the dollar crashes or even drops significantly, which is becoming more and more of a possibility. My retirement income is paid as a fixed number of dollars, so Id always be at the mercy of the current exchange rates.

I just sold a property in Portland and Im thinking of putting the cash into stocks. I know everyone is saying its ripe enough, but is this a good time to buy stocks? How long until a full recovery? How are other people in the same market raking in over $450k gains within months? Im really just confused at this point.

New Zealand does not want old people. You need to do more homework about what they actually make you pay to live there. Becoming a citizen in most of these places is almost impossible and takes many years…years a lot of retirees dont have.

Malaysia is extremely underrated in many ways, especially the capital of Kuala Lumpur. I felt safe, people were super nice to me, and there were limitless options for food.

I just moved from the Florida Panhandle to Mauritius, and my cost of living is now 50% less than in Florida. It’s so cheap here. Better food, better life, and a trillion more things to do than in FL.

Granted, it is less than in the US, but not free anywhere. Many require a capital investment of a lot of money just to be a permanent resident.
