mm, as soon as I hear a new Japanese concept I want to ask why are we taking so many concepts from japanese, which may appear useful but is
    1. Coming from a very toxic work and controlled culture
    2. Is usually twisted to western captialistic versions
    3. If it is a gentle art, I would bet it's not widely applied

It seems that the modernization hypothesis may require more nuance to the argument because richer democratic countries unhappiness Still have problems, but they're more systematic out of reach problems that an individual cannot handle anymore. This makes us feel like we lack purpose Because we are forced to live in a systematic stream that makes us go to work, come back home, rest for a little bit, go to work, come back home and rest a little bit and information is completely gate kept and we are not able to successfully survive for longevity without following the systematic problem.
