I’m Canadian I can’t agree with you, in fact I agree more! @lululemon that was a lazy attempt at representing #Canada

German here, Austrias uniform is based on the typical “Trachten” that are common throughout the Alp Region but especially at home in Bavaria and Austria. Typical elements for male outfits include: (wild) leather shorts, a white shirt and a waistcoat made out of a heavier woven fabric (similar to tweed) traditionally the outfit was often completed by a hat and a coat if it’s colder. (Those tie more into the fashion of hunting/sport shooting clubs “Schützenvereine”tho…)
For Women a Dirndl is traditional or as seen here a formal skirt, a white blouse and a waistcoat though often paired with an apron 🙂

    Hope this helped 🫶

I do suggest you look for the Philippines' opening ceremony wear, we had the athletes suited in a barong (formal top made of fibers, its a very traditional top that is most commonly worn by men but the modernization of it has led to it being a gender neutral outfit) accompanied by a sling or sleeve with the flag colors and embroidered with sun rays, which is supposed to lend a feeling of wearing armor. personally, as a Filipino who has witnessed so much more from our local designers, it's not the peak of design, but I still do like how clean it is and how well it blended the traditional and modern take of Filipino formal wear

19:54 the Haitian women's outfit is beautiful!!!❤ when i saw the French sleeveless vest I thought a cap sleeve would be better, and then Haiti did that SO well!!

Please do a series where you react to fashion designers from different countries! I felt so happy to see you react to Poland I would love to see you review polish designers and I’m sure people from other countries would enjoy it to. Would be a great series & I love your channel.

Team Haiti, for a country that has been in the news for basically being a non-functioning government, their uniforms are stunning. I wonder if that was the goal, to show that Haiti is more than civil war/ gang violence.

Team India: I'm a sucker for that long tunic Indian men wear. According to my Google search I think they're called kurtas? Any Indian is welcome to correct me.

Team Mexico: I would've given them silver. It's a bold departure from the usual Green, White and Red of the national flag.

Team Poland. Like the pink twinge. It's also a smart way to subtly show your flag's colors. Red and white make pink.

Team Mongolia: No comment. It's just the bomb!

Team Sri Lanka: The sleeper hit of the Olympic Games. Strong contender for second place after Mongolia.

Team USA: It feels recycled. I can recall it's been the same since Salt Lake City in 2002.

    My takes overall

    🥇Team Mongolia (of course)
    🥈Team Sri Lanka
    🥉Team Haiti

Honorable Mentions: Team Poland, Team India, and Team Nigeria.

Who cares about this crap? How about focusing on Satanic opening and closing ceremonies. Uniforms just hiding bodies that are in fact trans. People look closer ar clavicles of "women", noticable lack of breasts on women players, no sweat on players. Ask yourselves why.

The Hawaiian shirt made up of British representing flowers was very British. Us Brit’s love a bonkers Hawaiian shirt. We’re known as a rainy country. Bit of humour in the outfit I thought. 😄
Edit. And I WANT ONE!! 😆

I'm late but oh christ we brazilians were so embarrassed for the desings and we were pisssed too for how they treated the athletes. a lot of brazilian brands made collections/looks showing a creative and culturally rich vision after the uniforms were revealed
Our athletes deserve better. They worked so hard and they were there representing our country, our culture, they should have beeen dressed like kings and queens

For the Austrians I can say this is a very traditional take. The sleeveless vestes are a staple piece for a lot of national costume wearers men and women alike. The "Lederhose" (hunting calf, leather pants) is THE goat of mens traditional wear often worn with suspenders which are not seen here. The tone is usually more reddish brown, but I find the grey brown in combination with the beigy blazers quite appealing. As for the skirt, quite uncommon to see a long leather skirt like that. I find the length quite strange yet the fit is quite common in traditional wear skirts, but it's also not the best picture. This ensemble is definitely a more grown up/modernized take on the womens wear as usually women wear the "Dirndl" which is a dress with a corsetlike design which is very flattering on any bodytype and is a available from mini to maxi with an endless array of colors and patterns. Usually more middle aged women wear this ensemble, but also the vest is a staple in musicians uniform who participate in our local folk music clubs. I'm glad they didn't go for the red and white theme tbh as there are checkered shirts that are worn with the Lederhose often.

The usual choice for a full on trad look would be some sort of leather loafer, but their take with the crisp white sneakers pulls in the sport aspect in this context nicely.
This was an appropriate choice I'm happy to see.

Mongolia…fantastic! Oh my gosh Sri Lanka!!! Incredible!

I'm glad Luke likes the Team China uniforms and thought that the Team Canada uniforms were ok. I personally couldn't stop laughing at Team Canada during the closing ceremony because the mottled design make them look dirty and the shorts and tshirt look and the fact that most of the athletes were on the younger side made it feel like a high school field trip. The Chinese uniform was also being roasted by Chinese netizens online. As a Chinese-Canadian, the two teams I usually cheer for definitely weren't winners fashion-wise for me.😂

There is a video on how the Mongolian uniforms were designed. The female athletes asked for matching handbags to their uniforms.
