I live in Harlingen tx about 15 miles north of Brownsville. In my 73 years I've learned how unpredictable hurricanes are once in the Gulf. They will fool you at the last moment. One of the worst cat 5 hurricanes Alan was 200+ came directly at us for days but then basically stopped at the mouth of the Rio grande river then slid up a few miles near Port Mansfield and went in
This is the Rio Grande valley made up of about 25 cities and towns. It would have devastated this place. -

We've been a nervous wreck in the Rio Grande Valley. We desperately need the rain but don't wish anyone hurt or damage to homes! It's going to be a long and worrisome hurricane season for sure!

The last few storms have been nearly spot on. I'm not saying that will happen this time, but last go round that came near to where I was in louisiana they were off by about 10 miles. Every storm it seems like they get more and more accurate. Thinking about everyone back home along with everyone in the caribbean and Mexico that have already been hit.
