I would also say El Salvador is over taking Panama as the hub of Central America as well. San Salvador especially san Benito and colonial escalon also looks like Miami. The airport in San Salvador is 1 hour away from San Salvador it’s near farm land and beaches. Overall El Salvador is the place in Central America it’s changed the last 5 years with a good government. It’s the new hub of Central America

You should do a trip to El Salvador one of these days it’s the safest country in North America now. Lots to do cheaper than Costa Rica and about as much to do. Good to see you stop at the airport.

You did not went to caracas you went to la guaira which is a different city… Caracas is after the mountain,the big mountain divides the cities, also in Panamá there is no military, they were disbanded after Noriega fell

Colombian here.
Avianca sadly became in the recent years an incredibly disappointing and pretty much the worst airline in Colombia. It used to be one of the most luxurious and elegant airlines in South America. Now it's just not advisable at all. -

. You asked about what to do next. How about a north and south around the world trip.?Everyone thinks East and West. But Who does north and south? Something like Houston to Buenos Airies to Ushuaia (Argentina) to Singapore to Tokyo to Montreal to Houston?
. Even if the route was not quite polar at north and south, you could try to get as close to that as you could. And, I'd certainly watch that like I watched your around the world trip of a few years ago. -
