LaRuth Ensley is facing two charges of assault in Henrico County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

She was arrested Tuesday for allegedly abusing a child, causing serious injury and assault and battery on a family member. Both charges are class four felonies. Both of the incidents allegedly happened on May 1.

Ensley has been the principal of Henley Middle School in Crozet since July 2022.

She made her first appearance in court on Wednesday, and school officials have not commented yet regarding this case. They are gathering information and are restricted on what can be said about employees.

Ensley was released from custody and will appear in court on Aug. 26. Albemarle County students return to school on Aug. 21.
