What, no drive through funeral homes where you live? That must suck!

I bet money on it the things he said, or says that he said during jury duty, he never said. When you go there into the jury pool it’s serious business, and the judge will not put up with that

I know that one judge got kickbacks for sending innocent teens to a sexual deviant prison. Though I’m not sure where this happened but the entire thing came crashing down when the judge was caught by federal officials and the police in a sting operation. The judge got 15 years federal prison time and the teenagers were released and their criminal records were expunged meaning it never existed. Although they required a lot of therapy afterwards as they saw some really bad things in there.

No maternity leave or free college because all the money is spent on the military.

I am so glad you are back. I was afraid your strikes with Youtube knocked you out. Welcome Home Thurston.

Maternity leave is a thing in the US, it’s just not government mandated. It’s offered by the employer.

Just because all of our bills, money, are the same color does not mean you cant tell what they are!
they have big numbers in the corners for you to read what they are!!! LOL

A recent study has found that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than the men who mention it.

Just a heads up, the private prison thing that's only 8% of the prisons in the US and that number is going down

Some prisons are private, not all of them. What happens is that some states have too many prisoners in their prisons so they need to transfer some to private prisons for a fee per prisoner…that is how private prisons make their money.

This may sound racist but who really cares…..it's the truth anyhow. Private prisons in America will never run out of money because there are plenty of criminal Black males to arrest every day to keep those prisons making money.

If you don't want to be in prison in The United States whether you are White, Black, Brown, Green or Purple….THEN STOP COMMITING CRIMES AND BREAKING THE DAM LAW! Simple as that! Too many crybabies saying it's racism but it is NOT. Some ethnicities are just prone to be more violent than others and that is the dam truth whether it hurts the cry baby liberals or not. Don't do the crime and you won't do the time.

I have 2 children and I got 8 weeks paid maternity leave with each child. Now some jobs might not pay for maternity leave but we're still allowed time off.

Ugh! I can’t stand this guy. He over exaggerates and doesn’t always get things right and puts his own opinion in too much as fact. Don’t believe what he says, Thurston. 🙄

Can you react to "Washington's Dream – SNL"? It's a sketch comedy bit from comedian Nate Bargatze talking about how we do things in the USA.

Goodness i freaking hate Briggs. He has the most negative perspective on everything, sometimes to the point of inaccuracy.

I understand the concept of the metric system (SI), but a 'kilometer' means nothing to me unless I convert it to a mile. If I was forced to use it daily, like a second language, I could of course. It's not like the U.S. doesn't use SI in business and scientific spheres. My only regret in my education in the 70s is that they were so sure we would be converting to SI, they barely attempted to teach us Imperial. On the whole, I would much rather use a system used by my British forefathers than one made up…like that crazy calendar they tried..by the revolutionary French. I actually love France, but was taught to 'stick it to 'em' at every opportunity.

Nobody uses feet for long distances. A football field is 300 feet long, but we use 100 yards to say that. Feet is useful as a distance for short lengths like the size of a ladder.

I can’t say for sure about the rest of America, but I’m guessing they’re with me on these fucking pharmaceutical commercials, they’re the stupidest thing ever we fucking hate them lol… They are all variations of the same thing, actors who portray people that are unaffected by their disease because of this miraculous medication that you should definitely talk to your doctor about, normal people and supposedly normal every day life scenarios that are fake as shit with either a bad jingle and dance written for the disease and medication or re worded bad version of a once popular 80s tune that used to be great but now sucks because of the commercial …omg they’re the worst… almost makes you hate the company more than anything and I hope they catch onto that soon and stop making them, if we’re supposed to take a certain medication our doctors should know about it already. They’re the ones who should be informing us of this not these crap ass commercials, oh and by the way, at the very end, they rattle off this ginormous terrifying list of side effects to be aware of, they’re a disaster, I hope they end soon, if you read all that thanks and sorry lol ✌✨

BROTHER, I know you love learning about the U.S. and we as Americans we love to hear about ourselves even more but you should take a small hiatus from the US stuff maybe and do some other content. Let’s get back to Mr. Ballin or anything besides the United States would be cool.

To be clear, the pledge of allegiance isn’t mandatory. The Supreme Court has ruled on it. Kids can’t be forced to say it, can’t be forced to stand for it, can’t be forced to put their hand over their heart for it, and can’t be forced to say the line about “god”. Now, do kids get TOLD it’s not mandatory? No. Schools just straight up lie about it. But any public (government ran) school cannot punish kids about it regardless of what they choose to tell children.

The crazy thing is, we don’t use miles to measure distance in the Midwest. We use time.

When someone says a place is 100 miles away, I have no clue what they meant. But if they say it’s an hour and forty minutes of a drive, then I know what they’re talking about.

    In 6th grade they made us learn the pledge of allegiance in sign language and they made us do it every day ;~;

Love the Jury Duty clip. In NewJersey I once pulled the insanity ploy to get outta serving.
To be fair, they only offered 15 bucks a day for serving on a jury, a murder trial even.
The very old courthouse had massive bronze doors inside, when they called my name I took my chance to get outta there. I asked if those doors led to the execution chamber & if we could witness the execution in person, 5 minutes later I was dismissed FOREVER.
I haven’t been called since and lived in three other states since then. Hysterical 🤪

Nobody in the US is required to do the pledge of allegiance.

The Electoral College is an undemocratic disaster. All you have to do is win by one vote to get all the electoral votes. It should be by popular vote.

Everywhere I worked (corporate world) offered 12 weeks maternity leave. For women only, not dad’s. But dad is more than welcome to use vacation time to stay home. But usually the woman who gave birth has her mother or mother in law staying there to help out.

the uk use to use the imperial system before they switched

To clarify, the pledge of allegiance is not FORCED upon students. It is taught as part of the morning routine in schools usually starting in kindergarten, and goes up through high school, but if you just decide you don't wanna do it, there are no "punishments" really. If you're in the south it might be frowned upon (kinda like taking a knee for the national anthem), but it is definitely not illegal or punishable in any real way. I've never seen anyone opt out of it and face consequences beyond a snide remark or a glare, but even that's the most you'd get.

The Pledge of Allegiance is not mandatory. You don't have to say it. They do ask you to be respectful while the class does it. Forcing people to say it violates 1st amendment rights (Freedom of speech/not to speak).

I remember in 5th grade the day I decided to stop saying the pledge of allegiance. I always hated doing it and as soon as I found out it was my right to not say it I would just stand there in silence. My teacher complained a few times before eventually just letting me be. They really do be trying to indoctrinate you into patriotism from an early age.

I’ve never liked the prescription drug commercials. I was having a conversation with my neurologist about this and I was really surprised to hear that he thought they were good ideas. He said a lot of times patients who mentioned meds from these commercials actually tended to do a bit more research into their own diagnosis and were able to have more informed conversations about their treatment.

I don’t agree. While I saw his point, far too many doctors get benefits from prescribing these popular meds. My thing is that Americans will doctor shop to get the prescription they want and don’t care if it isn’t the best for them. Some don’t even care that there are cheaper versions of the meds they want the name brand even though they are exactly the same.

We will switch to the metric system when the UK starts driving on the right side of the road like the rest of the world does.
