REGGIE JACKSON at the time of his retirement with 563 career home runs was 6th all time in 1987. Today he is 14th as later players passed him on the all time list. However it must be noted that many of those players that passed him were steroid users they were cheaters. And played in an era that was very offense and hitter friendly. Pitching was watered down and ballparks were built for offense where it was easier to hit home runs. Reggie Jackson hit his home runs in a much more hostile environment for hitters. And Reggie Jackson didn't only excel in the postseason. He led his teams into post season play to championships by also playing well during the season.
