Excellent investigative reporting! I was always curious about this family/regime. My family (Heming) colonized Jamaica in the 1700's. The people are so articulate and beautiful in both countries. What infuriated me was when Haiti 🇭🇹 experienced a devastating earthquake. Bush/Clinton visited to allegedly "help" the stricken nation. Yet, they looted and raped Haiti.. LITERALLY…while hundreds of children went missing. That president condemned them, but his video has been removed from YT. A new president was quickly put in place (coup?) Then, another…Now we see the strife going on in Haiti again…with the main stream media labling the Revolutionary leader as a "cannibal". Well, he IS NOT! He is removing FOREIGN OPPORTUNISTS that plot to take it over. So, the saga continues.. PRAY FOR HAITI AND HER PEOPLE AND LEADER! 🙏

Karine, it would interesting to do a video on the result of the Haitian Revolution, and how France saddled Haiti with hundred million dollars plus in “fees” to “allow” the nation to earn and maintain their independence. Having that massive yearly expenditure was a way to ensure Haiti’s failure as an independent entity and provide ongoing income for France. Really despicable.

It seems there was one necklace (likely donated) that was auctioned off to earn money for the poor at the charity dinner. But I get that they were flagrant with their wealth and not doing enough to fix the situation.

The difference is those countries could afford to throw parties.They have budgets for those events.The clothing of most first ladies are donated not purchased.The blocks were in place because it was obvious to everyone that any monies received by way of trade was going to the Duvaliers and not the Haitian people.Whatever systems and good she did was short-lived because there was no training to ensure continuity of services and no efforts to encourage growth.The story of Haiti is sad.
