How do Belize City and Placencia fit into the framework of the video subjects?? Why did you specifically select Tulum for comparison? What are transportation links to Western Canada?

The fact of a much smaller congested tourist population in Belize compared to Mexico must have a huge appeal to many potential tourists and expats! But no one is facing the unavoidable explosion in Mexico because the cartels are taking over the country and are the origin of do much illegal migration into the US. On the other hand the limited comfort level in Belize is a Con because of lack of urban infrastructure familiar to people from Canada and the United States.

But for 50$ a night might need to put on the list and rent my Secret Beach House for a night and pay for the week in Talum

Belizeans spend millions of dollars in Mexico every year. So it goes without saying that the government of CHETUMAL is fully aware of our mutual trust and relationship with each other… which spans over decades of interests back and forth across the border. So then, can my DH and I live inside a beautiful house in the YUCATAN? You bet we can. Because they have gorgeous rentals… all across the RIVIERA. 👍

I lived in Puerto Morelos, (which i love!!)
I had small restaurant in Playa del Carmen. (Which i didn't love!!) 😂
The laws, taxes, building codes and restrictions and every thing being in Spanish makes it harder i feel in mexico.
The government and mafias in Mexico plus the run of the mill street urchin criminals makes Mexico more pain in ass and dangerous place to deal with.
Mafias and cops are one in the same.
Seems Belize laws more pro business friendly and being British in nature and in English.
As example…
They environmental government agency came to peoples houses with the cops as intimidation in tulum told owner's they wanted to confiscate their property for cutting down a tree that was protected. Then it was a fine.
Was basically a shake down / bribe. But people paid! It wasnt
$20 bucks either like a traffic stop.
Similar things happened to beach front property owners.
I think some actually lost property in this. Land grab. -
I'll be there in May to tour different areas to see what area would best fit my needs but trying to figure out an affordable place to stay near caye caulker or secret beach. I think one of the remax agents mentioned a concierge service, is this something you guys offer? Also, do you offer tours of the different areas?

FYI:
Franchises and chain stores, etc., are NOT allowed to establish their business inside Belize. Why not? Because BELIZE is officially a "MOM & POP" developing country. Therefore, COMPETITION is NOT welcome there. Period. Especially if you're coming in BIGGER or BETTER than the local businesses who are up and running for decades. Hence, "Protectionist Barriers" are already in place…permanently….to prevent COMPETITORS from establishing themselves… or roll out their agenda inside the emerging offshore country of Belize. COMPETITORS are NOT WELCOME. Why not? Because they're only coming in to run others OUT of BUSINESS…totally and completely…and such events will NOT be allowed to happen inside Belize. Period.

The marriage between MEXICO & BELIZE has already happened…so naturally, that makes ALL the difference in the WORLD… which clears the path for investing inside the Riviera… doesn't it. Tulum is really nice…WE really enjoyed ourselves there. It is very romantic, with few people bothering us or desperately trying to meddle in our businesses and our private lives.

How well would a helicopter or seaplane transport business do in Belize. Would the local businesses support or benefit from that service. I’m a retired military pilot, and I’d love to relocate to the Tulum/ Belize area. The Maldives have TMA seaplanes to move people and goods quickly to remote locations. Wondering if it would be a better option than flying for an airline.

The lawyer says that foreigners can't buy 50 meters from the beach, which is incorrect information. Owning properties through a bank trust in some areas of Mexico for foreigners is a very common thing, and is taken care of by the lawyer who represents the buyer. It is not even costly. This is why Riviera Maya is among the fastest growing areas in the world.
I hope that people who are seriously considering these two destinations will reach out to someone who knows Tulum well before deciding, as I found several points in this video which are not accurately presented – including the taxes. -
