Thank you for the informational lecture and lesson. We have a ongoing exhibition at the New Orleans Jazz Museum called DRUMSVILLE. There's a long line of drumming rhythms that start at Algiers Point slave quarters and Congo Square circles that is still played today that we hear at Jazz Band sets, Secondlines processions, Jazz Funerals with Brass Bands and Sunday drum circles. And that Rhythm would be the BAMBOULA. And its colloquially pronounced
"Nu Awlinz". Congo Square has gone through several changes since its inception with constant additions of different african ethnicities and then the influx of the domestic slave trade populations from the upper South.
