The US doesn't and shouldn't aspire to "run the world". We just want to be as safe as possible from those who would harm or interfere with us.

Blue lagoons are gorgeous, aren't they?

BIDEN HAS DEMENTIA.

The narrator is wrong about several things. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to learn that he is a supporter of China and the Communist party after having to listen to the tone in his voice.

Please react to the (paramedic force 5 bridge creek and moore, Oklahoma tornado May 3 1999). It's the first responders response to the 1999 moore, Oklahoma F5 tornando. I currently work as an EMT with EMSA in tulsa, Oklahoma. We use this video for training new hires on mass casualty response. The camera crews riding with these ambulance crews were making a Tv show on the day and life of first responders the day moore got hit. Most people have no idea what happen in the aftermath of a tornado. This video is a great watch to understand what it takes to triage a mass casualty incident.

At 1 point, America wanted to purchase Greenland, and Iceland but Congress decided not to, but during President Trump's first term he offered the dutch a certain amount or at least to talk about purchasing greenland

All that with China is because of sleepy joe and his administration

Listen, as soon as you hear 'imperial' and 'American,' you know it's full of shit. Let's be clear: to this day, if America wanted to take over, it could. It doesn't, because it's a republic. This is commie BS. China and Russia attack the West, mainly America, for all its sins. The US and the UK, despite their many flaws, are far superior to whatever those countries produce. The fact is, the world would be living like a bunch of cavemen, like they do in much of India, China, Russia, and all of Africa, if it weren't for the influence of the US and the UK. The only places that are not backwards are those where the UK or the US had a presence. There is always room for improvement, but no one is fleeing to Russia from the West. No one is rushing to the land of China. Everyone wants to move to the US, Western Europe, the UK, or Australia.
I'm going to say it bluntly: everywhere run by white Europeans is the best place to live. The more white, the better it's run. Africa sucks, India sucks, and if you're not getting a super fat check, does anyone want to live in China? No! America benefits from being the freest market on Earth, period. It's less free than it used to be, and that's why the whole planet is circling the drain. It has nothing to do with this bullshit. It has to do with the people, the work ethic, the creativity, and the freedoms. That's what America needs to get back to.

As someone from The United States (specifically Texas), I feel the government should grant Washington D.C. & the 5 Island Territories (Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, Northern Marian Islands, & American Samoa) statehood already. If these over 4 million people are born as American citizens (except for American Samoa), can fight & die in our country's wars, are allowed to vote in the primaries (but not the Presidency), & are lands where U.S. currency is used, why not make them full states? Being an American born in Washington D.C. or on 1 of the 5 Island Territories is like being at an all-you-can buffet but only allowed to use 1 plate; what's the point of only having partial benefits to being here given that you can't have full benefits like everybody else?

Tinian island is where the B-29's took off with the atomic bombs.

I always thought that Wake is between Midway and Guam.

All of these territories are exceptional.

There's a largely overlooked secondary advantage to all those overseas military bases: they provide a constant high level of logistical exercise that becomes very valuable in the event of an overseas war. Ordinarily, the most difficult thing about fighting a war overseas, is the sudden need to procure, organize, and transport thousands of tons of supplies over thousands of miles, far from home. For most military forces, this is extremely daunting. For the US military, it's just another Tuesday. Overextended supply lines have defeated many otherwise great military commanders, perhaps most famously Napoleon, and that wasn't even overseas. It's a serious issue, if you're not prepared. The US military is if anything over-prepared for this, to the point where it's almost completely a non-issue.
Miami is about the same distance from Puerto Rico, as it is from DC.
Wake Island (among others) was taken from the Japanese military during WWII, and never given back. (Japan never had any civilian population there; it was just a military base.) However, it is not located where the video depicts it, at all; and no, it hasn't moved. In the real world, Wake Island is, and always has been, closer to Hawaii than it is to the Philippines. The location circled in the video at that point is probably the Spratly Islands, which belong to the Philippines, though of course China disputes this. (China claims the entire region and has territorial disputes with every country between Pakistan and New Guinea. If you look up "territorial dispute" in Wikipedia it just redirects to the China article.)

That video was definitely made by a commie loving lefty
-
Originally obtained as coaling stations for the US Navy, same as the British Navy was doing in St Helena.
-
Using the socialist fist for the original thirteen colonies is fking bullshit. After that the rest of the video might as well be kittens playing with yarn for me. No credibility whatsoever.
-
Correction to the video: Hawaii is NOT in the "South Pacific." It's well over a thousand miles North of the equator.
-
Evidently China doesn’t see what is coming 😮
-
The Caribbean isn’t that far away from the 48 states, we’re talking about a country where the main 48 states is at least 2000 miles/over 3000 km. It’s closer to a good portion of the country than Hawaii. Hawaii is over 2400 miles away from California. Puerto Rico is about over 1000 miles away from Florida.

It’s funny how it was mentioned that the Philippines have been the only territory to vote out of being in US territories, yet the Philippines themselves had high regards to Americans. To us Americans, we too are fond of the Philippines and have respected their decision to be an independent nation, in fact we have given them support in their sovereignty. Even when the Philippines had a leader that questioned American involvement and attempted to work closer with China, we respected their decision to interact with whomever they wanted even though the Chinese and American relations were getting frosty. Sadly a lot of Filipinos are mad at Duarte as he signed a secret agreement with Xi that has put the country at a disadvantage and no one outside knows what the deal entails while the CCP keeps bringing it up to use against the Philippines, like insisting they can fish in certain areas that is either supposed to be restricted or shared around the coast.
I think the way how we Americans view the Philippines is similar to how the British views us as family, like father and son. Instead of messy break up to eventually come together to fight for a common cause, we see the Philippines as if it was our older child (whose ironically older than our country) that has managed to make it’s way into being responsible. Now they too have made their own mistakes as most other countries do, but I’d say generally they’ve done well. We are happy to have good ties with them again, however we understand we need to help them get to a point they don’t have to rely on us and we want to respect their boundaries. This has made a lot of Americans feel better that the Philippines understands that our country is already taking quite the load, and we generally have an easier time cooperating with the Filipino than most other countries.
I’m certain it would be a likely similar situation with a lot of other islands if they wanted independence, Americans are not as interested in being imperialist, we do understand the necessity especially in times like today. We want to avoid another WWII scenario is our primary concern, there can be value to having these islands but I think it would be ideal to get these islands prepared to strengthen the communities to if they did have independence, we know they’ll be alright.

These artificial Islands China built are all quickly eroding. They are made from sand dredged up from the floor of the South China Sea, and that sand is unstable. And to answer your question, Cuba is only 80 miles from Florida. The United States rented a section of Cuba and never left.
-
They all receive funds from the United States and they are U.S. Citizens Guam is called the USS Guam
-
It really doesn't cost that much for the u. S to hold on to our overseas Territories. Because places like the Philippines we used to have, we gave him independence. A lot of people say that the Filipinos fought for their independence, but they lost that war, and then the US decided to move towards Their independence right before world war two happened, and then obviously that got postponed till after world war two

Some things the video didn't cover about the Compact of Free Association, each member has free trade with the U.S. and no need for passports to travel to and from the U.S. The U.S. also provides federal services to them, such as the USPS, NOAA, Medicare, and the FCC. Almost all government bureaucracy is handled by the U.S. instead of their own governments. It's a pretty big package deal that even enables them to function as functioning governments at all. The CFA arose out of the old post-WWII U.N. mandate, after we took them from the Japanese who took them from the Germans in WWI.
And note, this does not include places like Guam or the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands which are outright part of the United States.

That video you are reacting to is loaded with errors. Wake is the obvious one. Hawaii is not in the South Pacific, I lived there. There's more. Half facts are in there as well.

Learned it from the British.

Stop providing weapons to israel

2:47 The United States also gained Cuba upon defeating Spain. Cuba was a US territory from December 10 1898 – May 20 1902
-
7:45 Bruv, it's already doing that now. It doesn't need to be a state to do that, you muppet
-
8:00 No, it isn't. Puerto Rico, all of the Caribbean islands, are in North America. "Central America" is also North America.
-
18:08 "This one is really close to China" No, it isn't. Wake Island is in the middle of the Pacific
