Now the Sukuyan or what ever that thing is in DR we call them witches. And my brother was a victim. My mother told us there used to be a woman in how town that used to walk on 4 and used to hang out around our house. The reason why this story really spoke to me is because the sukuyan drained victim of blood and let a blue mark, and targeted babies or young children. My brother was about 1 or 2 at the time. My mother said she woke up one night to my brothers faint cries. And when she got to him he was blue and there was a blue mark on him. She said she looked in the crib and saw blood. She left the windows open because we lived high up on the second floor and my brothers room window was right in front of the crib. My mom said that when she picked up my brother she happened to look out the window and saw that women that walked on all four untop of the palm tree outside our house. She went to wake up my dad and when he went outside she was no where to be seen. My mother says she never saw that woman again. Now your probably wondering why she ainโ€™t get me . Well my brother was 2 or one. Idk if I was even born yet but If I was, I would have been an infant so my mother always slept on the same bed as me.

4:17 I think itโ€™s pronounced with a at the end. My grandpa called me this when I was young, and when I started to understand what it was, I got offended for real because my little cousin lives in the same house with me in the kid is fine late but my grandpa had to wait and blaming me for every bad habit that child picked up even though I didnโ€™t spend that much time with him because he used to get me in a lot of trouble. ๐Ÿ˜… they have that old-school Trini way about them where they favorite boys and they treat grandkids different especially the lighter skins they are.. Iโ€™m the dark skinned one ๐Ÿ˜…

For anyone looking for a closely accurate portrayal of mermaids watch this old movie called She-Creature. They did that mermaid right and showed that she was a monster and how they feed.

Iโ€™ll never understand how mermaids become cute half fish chicks with clam bras when THE MYTHICAL, FOLKLORE, AND SOME HISTORICAL TEXTS DESCRIBE THEM AS HORRENDOUS CREATURES WHO USE THEIR VOICE TO SEDUCE MEN AND DRAG THEM INTO THE ABBYS. and while I have read many mentions of their โ€œbeautiful voicesโ€ it is the extent of their beauty. They all claim their voices are beautiful and enchanting but their faves are that of a demon
