I respect Dr. Umar, enjoy his statements. However, we all want a second chance whether you churched or unchurched. But here's the problem, the Church uses the scripture based on forgiveness, but the error is not in forgiveness its in not teaching accountability and teaching you are not exempt from consequences. Teaching the process of forgiveness is where the ignorance comes from. For example: God calls us his children. When you are a good parent, when your child break the rules it is your duty to either spank that butt or some other suitable correction. And forgiveness is granted and understood because you now understand wrong you do is not an easy pass. The Black church thinks forgiveness means restoration is automatic without correction and if worse, you will do jail time. Now me personally, I guess I am somewhat selective of sin or downfall. Cause if you molest children and you're in clergy I don't care what they do to you. Violating a child, I don't want to see your butt in anybody pulpit. Forgiveness is not extended for you to violate what God has called us to protect. We will tolerate you living somewhere away from kids and you will be shunned as they did in the Bible days. Folks today in the Black Church lack knowledge, Scripture says We are destroyed for the lack of knowledge. In my conclusion, I highly respect Dr. Umar but we do serve a God of 2nd and sometimes 3 chances, we just got a lot of Black ignorant Pastors and or churches that don't know how to implement the true process to stop the mess people keep doing in the name of forgiveness.
