Because I am in a relationship with a Family Law Attorney, I always try to remember not to make judgments based on a 16-minute video. However, in this case, what I am seeing is a female who decided to push the envelope, most likely based on Google research. My GF has told me many times about that exception in the IRS code. This same type of exception is in place in the case of that 10-year rule about military retirement. This female mentioned an accountant. What most likely happened was she had a tax preparer tell her to go on ahead and use the kids, most likely not knowing the IRS rules.

This mom actually seems pretty reasonable to me..she didn’t have any concerns. The tax credit thing was probably bad judgement but if that is the worst your ex does then consider yourself very fortunate

No accountant would say u go against a court order what she means is she read online that she should claim for them never mentioned a court order at all (if she spoke to anyone)

She knew what doing about tax returns, any accounting would told you that a court order trumps the code but you prolly left that out. You don’t kids travel aboard for holiday. Because you are not going it’s pitiful. He not about to give up his life to kidnap some teenage kids when he can wait few til they are grown..

Claiming at least one kid lets the parent file as head of household vs. single. Much better deduction. Why would they alternate years and give up money for both of them instead of each claiming a kid?

I really wasn't a big fan of this judge for a long time, because he would allow mothers to get away with absolutely anything, time and time and time again, with no consequences. Recently, however, he seems to have tightened that up. I just watched another video where a mother delayed refinancing the marital home for almost a year so he cut it off and ordered that she list the home for sale within 14 days. Same as he would have done for a father. Glad to see he's decided mothers and fathers should be treated equally.

Women become sidewalk lawyers overnight! They use the children as weapons of mass destruction. They lie and manipulate. They ALL follow the same exact play book. Men must avoid marriage and if not must make serious stops to protect themselves. US men should be required to take legal classes on the risks of marriage. Mandatory dna tests for children at birth. Women always claim abuse of themselves and the children. The same women who married the guy and had several children now claiming he will kidnap the children to a third world country. She just keeps it up. We need more judges who stop giving these evil women any legal advantage. 😊
