As African salves, Our drum was taken which was our main source of communication. We had to make do from what we had. We have taken culture from our African salve ancestors but until we research we won’t recognize it. It’s sad though when Africans talk about us as if we had a choice in the matter. Then African Americans don’t understand their oppressions in the African countries. I know that most Africans don’t know all we’ve been through… not just slavery but Jim Crow, KKKs, lynching.. I mean it’s so much. And African Americans need to understand Africa’s colonial history and the apartheid
AND the French and other European countries-still have their hands in Africa. We need a healing session so we don’t continue with this weird division. I actually had to pause this video to respond. I cannot believe the ignorance from these ladies. Yes the civil right act was for us – black people in America but it ended up benefiting all outside minorities. And my personal relatives marched and fought for this! I take offense also from anyone coming from another country spreading judgement on black Americans because you got here on our backs basically and don’t know what we go through daily. You ladies don’t know American black history. Jamaicans Afro Latinos Haitians etc all share ancestry with us because they were brought there by the whites on the same boat. White people have guilt and fear that they do not want to face toward us because their wealth came from their slave owning our ancestors. I am 38 percent white because of this and Asian but both parents are black. Slavery on both sides. They fear us rising up against them. African slaves in America were treated the most brutal during slavery and our ancestors bloodline was destroyed by so many races by rape. I have 31 races in my bloodline. I did my DNA and I am mostly Nigerian, (Igbo) but also there is Congolese Ghana Liberia and the broadly west African. Many more. Which do I pick? These ladies don’t have that problem. That’s why we can’t tell you where we are from because it’s more than one country! Then not to mention all of the other races to name a few Europe and British and Asian also are in my bloodline.
To say that we don’t know where we come from in a way of putting us down is a slap in the face! Not cool at all. We were sold by Africans some of us and others were kidnapped Learn our history before speaking ignorantly on it! We were taken beaten sold and disregarded without pay for over 400 years and it bleeds into 2024 with daily damages of u justice. Build our own communities?- did that several times, they were burnt down by white supremacy. Sue them you say? They did and lost, because they knew tie flood gates would open and they should open. As for me that was 8 generations back in America that I could trace of my people , so I am American. With African ancestry and otherwise. Records were lost, burned etc. We are Americans North and South America is the continent including Canada. So no we don’t call Africa our home. America is as our ancestors built the dam White House! Don’t come on his show trying to sneak dis black Americans when you don’t have your edges from wearing wigs to look like us! I’m just saying , the culture you live in America came from us. Black people born with white blood in us not by choice we are diasporas. Our culture is what you are over here enjoying or you would be here. Almost every music genre came from us- even country music!Back to black and white Americans. It wasn’t just slavery but segregation, Jim Crow era a done up to today with micro aggressions it stlll exist. Klu klux klan infiltration into the police So we are owed the biggest amount of reparations ever. That’s why they will bypass us and welcome other ethnicities and African s who did not live what we lived, and then talk bad about us to even you all as you enter the country. The biggest fear to them is if we unite, but listen to the ignorance here. Reparations to us would deplete their ill gotten wealth. The black man is prejudged by whites a many other races but should never be from an African. So yes the would give you whatever to succeed because as an African expat, you are not a threat like the African American woman and man are. Our history is not the same. These ladies would do better to just listen to black people in America. Don’t speak-just listen because this story has been hidden,changed ,and white washed. Just listen and learn because you didn’t live it . Sorry for ranting, but that boiled my blood. Now they may have come here on the backs of the civil right act of our ancestors backs, but the enduring of birth right citizenship won’t be so pretty

I love being Black and I love being American. The issue is the majority of these immigrants come to this country benefiting from what my ancestors fight and died for. And still continue to fight for. Everything we have ever tried to do was taken from us, we had to fight for everything we have. I don’t take anything for granted . Literally the ability to go to school and learn, to go to college for free. And so much more because my people fought for that. My dad’s grandmother could’nt even read. That wasn’t too long ago. I’m am proud of how strong my people r and that we fought. And it’s sad that people look at our community and judge us for being in the position that we are. When nothing in our history shows that we are lazy. They see the drugs in our communities, the violence, the degeneracy going on but they don’t look at the history and see why or how these things happened. Look at community post drugs and before guns we’re brought into our community. It was another way to break us down. We have literally have to fight for our right to just live. They call us lazy when we had to fight even go to school, get into good colleges shit like that. Because we weren’t aloud to learn. But we wanted to so we fought for it. Majority of my family had to drop out of school because they had to work. My mom’s aunts and uncles. So even when we were aloud to go to school we were not able to finish. My mom was the first in her family to graduate high school and college. My mom isn’t even 50 yet and I’m 25. And I’m about to graduate with my degree. I wish people would just look at the history, they come into the country turning their noses at us and telling us what we should be doing. It’s like judging the people who cooked and prepared a whole meal and feast and they come into to eat and is like “ why are u tired I could have easy done this shit” it’s not a perfect example at all lmao but u get what im trying to say. We did all the hard work. Just look at Martin Luther kings time, how they spoke, how they carried themselves. It’s crazy to see how drugs and guns messed up our communities. And it wasn’t us who brought them there. I am not making excuses for my people Ik we have our faults as well. I’m just blessed to be alive because if my people had not fought not to just be alive but to live, I wouldn’t be here. And these immigrants sure wouldn’t be either. Nothing against Africans or any immigrants because I grown to understand that they only see part of the story but i appreciate the ones that actually understand the history and see that and respect that.

I was working for a coffee shop and noticed some customers were speaking Mende so I greeted them in Mende, unfortunately I never got to learn the full language so the man kept talking till he realized I didn't understand that much then proceeded to tell me I'm not a son of Africa snatched the coffee threw the money at me and left.
