I don't deny the Korean military did some bad stuff in Vietnam but I think it's important to note that it's blown out of proportion in large part due to Japanese propaganda (the netto uyokus always bring that up). If you just compare the number of victims Korean military caused vs the Japanese during WWII, it's not even a drop in the bucket. I say this because I found out my grandma was a comfort woman while I was in college in the early 2000s and that news sent me down a rabbit hole trying to learn more about it since the American history curriculum completely glosses over that part of history.
I think the Korean government should unequivocally own up to it so the ultra nationalist Japanese can stop throwing that in our faces whenever Koreans bring up Japanese atrocities.

When it comes to the tiktok ban what Ed said is 100% right, but there's a coalition of support to ban tiktok for various reasons.
1. People who benefit from tiktok being banned financially… If you look at the stock portfolios of those who voted to banks, almost all of them have META stock.
2. AIPAC (The American Israel Public Affairs Committee) and other Zionist organisations are afraid that millennials and younger get most of our information/news on tiktok and that we're becoming antisemitic (we're not, we just don't support genocide)
3. META themselves has been spending years to slander tiktok in an effort to give them a bad name, they've been caught paying a GOP firm to spread fake stories and make up "tiktok trend" when no such videos existed and most times it was a one off video that came from META either instagram or facebook. Of course they want tiktok banned so they can soak up market shares. -
