they send a helicopter after you for speeding, the cops are by far the most proactive in new england, and sentencing guidlines are crazy compared to neighboring states.

I've lived in The Most Dangerous City in NH (Rochester) for 26 yrs. I would take Rochester over Nashua anyday. Not much culture but Portsmouth is right down the road.
-
Why would you do crime in Nashua when you can go 2 miles south and rob someone with nicer shit and no second amendment rights?
-
that's because there's nothing worth stealing.so those element's don't come around.and your not sleeping under a bridge in nh.
-
I LOVE new Hampshire red necks. NH is god's country, i am gonna retire in new Hampshire whie mountains.

Nashua Safe? I don't know if that's true or they are just saying that? I went through Joshua about 15 years ago and the people I encountered were extremely Paranoid!!! I stopped from directions in a church parking lot and was met with very unusual behavior because I had Washington Tags on my vehicle. I had to figure it out myself. Like i said I don't know what's happening there but my experience was not friendly people, and the Police are another thing I was waiting for a light a cop was directing traffic and he blew a fuse because I let the car roll 2" towards the stop line? I thought he was going to Taz me because of his reaction!I was 4' Short of it and wanted to close the gap a little. I didn't touch the gas just let off the brakes a little. So yeah Friendly Not really, maybe that camera made their behavior change. Needless to say I didn't rent a room passing through I didn't feel comfortable there I kept going to Portland ME.

i live in concord NH and regulary go to boston, new york, bridgeport, lewiston, and id happily walk through any of those cities at any time of day or night before I go to Nashua for a walk. nashuas lack of identity and inefficient streets make everywhere hidden easily jumped on by an Anonymous person who no one could identify. there is no community there is only tall taxes and overpriced Massachusetts attractions so the crime is not reported to create a fake sense of safety in statistics to attract more cash cows to the town.
-
it's got a lot of crime, shooting at homeless camp, some guy had a shootout with police this year. is one of the most dangerous city's in nh. it's 2 citys away from lawrance ma.

9 percent states tax if you east out, sleep in a hotel, or rent a car, it's only 7 percent for all those things.

Thatās hardly a poor neighborhood.

What universe do you live in? 'Oh golly, Nashua takes care of its homeless." No, no it does not. You are assuming they do for some reason. The area where the tents are is regularly cleared out by the police. That's why there are so few. There are a few shelters you can only stay there for x amount of time. Resorces? Did you know there is a 6 to 8 years wait list for affordable housing? That's because Nashua has gentrified. Those lofts your oohing and ahhhing at are out of reach financially for the average non tech person. AS for Gen Z coffee geek, his statement that we have great social services. "so, people behave" is the height of ignorance. Nashua's services are bare bones. It's a shame you didn't bother to speak to people who live on the Tree Streets or wander past the Coptic church. We live in dangerous areas in horrible conditions because Nahusa code enforcement does not follow through when writing up code violations. Again, social services are bare bones. Nashua is great if you have money. For many of unhoused Nashaun's, they were once middle class and working class. Many went bankrupt due to job loss, bankruptcy due to a medical crisis and lack of in-patient care for mental health. IN fact, the state and Nashua were successfully sued by the federal gov't twice over the last decade for not providing THE MINIMUM care for people with mental illness. Both hospitals were successfully sued on behalf of individuals who were, like many people admitted into the e.r. for mental health care. But because there are only a few beds in the state for in patient mental health care they are forced to lay on stretchers in the hallways for weeks, sometimes months. Waiting for a bed to open. They weren't allowed to leave. Which is INSANITY because there was no point in staying in a hallway as they were not receiving treatment. We are also the only state that houses non offending people with mental health issues, in PRISON. Oh, and as you drove past Farwell Funeral Home you passed by the apartment building i 'survive 'in. It's beautiful Victorian. One you thought amazing. If you actually walked inside, you'd find the heat doesn't work, the water pressure is iffy, the hot water sometimes runs in a trickling shower. But conversely=y the cold water stops working and the hot water hits 127 degrees. Which is just a degree below scalding. I have burn scars on my body because of it. Oh, and I have to share the tiny bathroom with two other people who rent other rooms. The apartment entrance had a broken lock for months. Last spring some men walked in laughing, drunk and almost broke into my apt. They left and came back. What terrified me is I usually had my door unlocked and slightly opened because I needed the warm air from the hallway to warm up my room. I 'exist; in this horrible place because the 'incredible services' the people you spoke with claim exist put me here as I needed to move from a dangerous place in HUDSON. I was told not to complain about my living situation because the agency 'helping me' didn't want to upset the absentee landlord in case they needed to use the apt for other clients once I move. If I move because there just aren't any apt in an affordable price range. I am a military widow, my husband died in 2015 from service-related illness. And we lost everything financially due to medical bills. NH is one of only a few states that does not have housing services to military widows. That has lots to do with not having tax revenue to funnel into social services. And the police you think are amazing? They have a terrible reputation. Going back to at least the 1980's. They have been successfully sued many times. There's the officer who broke a woman's arm -she wasn't
a suspect. She was in her apt. when the police came knocking because they received a call from her ex who told them she was a danger to herself because she was suicidal. It was a lie. She tried telling the cops this, but they broke through her door and in subduing her, broke her arm. There is the police officer who ran over a kitten on purpose while little kids watched. There's the officer who threatened to 'O.J. ' a white girlfriend of a black man after she asked why they were pulled over. There's the police officer who was abusing his wife-she could not get his fellow officers to protect her. He eventually shot her dead in front of their kids before he took off. You go on in this video as if Nashua is perfect even minimizing the problems (the houses don't look that bad from the outside so you assumed things mustn't be too bad on the inside) and spreading misinformation. You didn't talk to anyone with first-hand knowledge about the downside of life here. Instead, you chose to take the wording of people who clearly have no working knowledge of the system in Nashua. And Genz coffee guys comment that the social system is working because 'it keeps them (those who are clients of the system) quiet, was dehumanizing and disrespectful. So much for coffee and KINDNESS. The woman at the beginning who stated she felt less safe in Nashua then in Boston. I've lived all over the world. IN big cities. I can tell you without hesitation, Nashua scares me at night. I've not felt that same fear anywhere else. Maybe it's the drunks who, coming out of the pub a few buildings away, loitering around screaming and threatening each other right outside on my lawn night after night. Maybe it's the way a car or truck slows down when I'm walking home from the bus stop. Circling the block and double checking to see if I need a ride…Maybe it's the cops who were incredibly disinterested when they finally showed up after the attempted attack. I certainly do want out of Nashua. That's the plan. But this 'system' that's so wonderful, has me trapped. Before my Dad died, he made me promise I'd "get the hell out of Nashua…you can do it." My Dad never swore. I promised him I would. But as one year meltds into the next I'm still trapped. -

This was really well done. I spent a good part of my childhood here, back in the 2004 era and I recognized some areas. I lived above the Latin bakery. It was a family friends pizza shop. So many memories and haven't seen it in 20 years. Thanks for this!
-
Bahahahaha I grew up in nashua. It's a dump. Goto the hudson bridge. You'll see a homeless encampment with campers cars and tents.
-
How about the arsonist still roaming nashua? He burned 20 Porto pottys then an entire house. Toilet paper inside a hand sanitizer bag goes up in flames quickly. Burned a whole house down by Hayward south end
-
Something tells me that bakery is a real gem. Her vibes are lovely and lively and i just know she bakes with love!

Nashua is not the safest place to live it's also has a lot of homeless people that are mentally ill and drug addicts and alcoholics they don't seem to tell you that the rents are outrageously priced and there's no good jobs here unless you work at bae and you make lots of money we may have no state sales tax but that really shows in how the police work in our state personally in Nashua they don't pay attention to any of the homeless or the alcoholics it takes them forever for a 911 call if they decide to respond I personally almost gotten hit by police who want to take a right on red when I have a walk sign and I've called the police and ask them to please watch for the drivers that are tearing up the street driving 4550 and a 25 z and they just don't care the police do not care
