I have no problem with you guys doing ad reads just maybe a little buffer or intro to it would be cool. Was a bit of a jarring cut to on this one lol otherwise loved the video learned quite a bit of new things 😄 thanks for the new knowledge in a fun way with an excellent host!

I already left a comment but my phone won't let me edit it. So first "jesus magic" I laughed so hard at that. Also what is it with humans leaving, losing, and forgetting big stone heads all over the place? Easter island, mayan heads, presidents heads, the heads from the cathedral you just mentioned…we humans are a strange bunch lol
Oh ok phone I can edit this one and not the other sigh I need a new phone 🙃

I marked a major bucket list item 10 years ago when I visited Paris and saw Notre Dame. I hope to visit Paris at least once more and to see the cathedral again.

One challenge to the reconstruction would have been the dearth of old-growth forests in modern France. The massive trees that were felled for the initial construction simply no longer exist. If the architects were able to use smaller, younger trees to replace the lost timbers, that was a major accomplishment.

Last comment: your French pronunciations are terrible. But we appreciate the effort.

You did pretty well with the French accent, but do remember that the French do not pronounce the final e on words unless it has an accent mark. Specifically, Ile de la Cite' is pronounced more like "eel de la SEE-tay."

I was lucky enough to be able to take a trip to Paris in late 2018, visiting Notre-Dame mere months before the fire….and even after all these years I still consider myself blessed for having had the chance. 💕

Hey so "Jesus magic" … you all probably think that's funny, but some would consider mocking millions of people's religion pretty shitty.

Much appreciated from both the author and presentation. The historical summary and timeline are impressive!

The timing was extremely suspicious especially when the large numbers of other churches being torched in France at the time is considered.

The laser mapping survey was done just a few short years before the fire and were a wonderful tool for the cathedral's restoration. BTW, you don't pronounce the final "e" in French, so "ile" is just pronounced "eel" and not "eela".

As a boy, I was inspired by the song, 'April in Paris'. I found it to be so romantic. Fast forward to April, 1982. I'm in the military stationed at NATO HQ with my family in Belgium. On April 24th my wife and I went to Paris. Taking the Paris ring road we parked underground, under the Arch de Triumph, and walked EVERYWHERE. The Arch, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Napoleons Tomb, and of course the Cathedral. We then took the opportunity to explore ruins that had been discovered UNDER the Cathedral, too. AMAZING! But for me, by far the best…. We were walking hand-in-hand together next to the Seine. We had just finished lunch at a curbside market. As we walked, I reached up and plucked a blossom from a tree and put it in her hair, and kissed her passionately. It was Paris. It was April. I was with the love of my life. April in Paris…JUST LIKE THE SONG. 😉🥰🤗

Karl is still around? I would have thought he died under the return mail of phallic shaped objects he told so many people they could choke on.
Really the guy killed off his own channel. By telling people if they had an issue with things he said, they could choke on phallic shaped objects from a bag. A similae method used by Flate Earthers who think they are right and wont hear other wise.

What about the fact it was never actually completed? Two main towers were suppose to have spires that were never built!
