Thank you, Alex, for creating this video. My family and I once stayed at the Del around 2002. My kids were young and we went search for ghosts at 3am. We didn’t find any, but we still talk about the adventure. Thanks for the memories

I’ve stayed there! It’s a fabulous hotel, and I look forward to staying there again. After I stay again at the Queen Mary. Very well done Alex!

Fun to see the interiors. Its a beautiful place. I'm glad its still standing 😊

It's absolutely miraculous that it's still standing. Everything else like it from the time burned down long ago. I've only visited once, and had a drink in the bar before touring the grounds and walking the beach.

Excellent upload, I remember reading the ghost stories of this hotel. So glad it is still around.❤️

The famous movie "Somewhere In Time" (set at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan) is based on
the novel titled Bid Time Return by Richard Matheson. In that novel, all action takes place here at Hotel Del Coronado. Excellent video (as usual)!!! Many thanks Alex 👍🙏

Whenever I feel dumbfounded by just how technically, creatively, logistically skilled people were over 100 years ago (much less the economics), I have to remember that the Great Pyramids of Egypt were built over 4,000 years ago. Also, never say never. When jet travel soared in the 1960s, I'd never have predicted that a huge ocean liner like the Queen Mary 2 would be built in the early 2000s.

Alex, the image at 4:56 is amazing. Notice the 4-4-0 steam locomotive.

Alex your videos exponentially improve, from your narration, research and editing.
Such a long way from the one man/one phone Disneyland videos.

I wanted to share this song written and sung by Eve Selis. A local artist of San Diego for years. The song about Kate Morgan.

Wow. The tent city looks pretty neat. Of course we have tent cities now all over California, but they certainly don't have any sense of style….

Alex, a very well-done tribute to a beautiful American Icon. Thanks.

Not bad; it's ironic an expensive hotel was built on a garbage dump of an island.

I was at this hotel during its renovation Im so sad they removed the original elevator because they didn’t have a operating guy for it like ITS SO EASY JUST MOVE A LEVER 😭😭

Oh. The Del. I fell in love with The Del not too crazy long after I did the same with Queen Mary. The Travel Channel was very affective back in those days. Some Like It Hot also sparked it on all the more. I didn’t realize how many other films she starred in, though…besides Baywatch. Lolz.

Privileged to have visited it but once back in my high school days. It’s a shame another iconic place and structure was built off the gentrification of a certain peoples. The things important to know while still appreciating the thing itself.

I really know very little, so every little detail is always enriching.
