All week we’ve been lucky enough to celebrate the Caribbean, but we’ve saved the best for last!
Today, we’re exploring The Islands of The Bahamas, and even have a special Junkanoo performance! The Honorable I. Chester Cooper, the Deputy Prime Minister of The Bahamas joins Marysol Castro and Alex Lee to share what sets The Bahamas apart and makes the islands a special place to visit. Plus enjoy two island-style drinks, recipes below.
Cocktail
Spicy Mango Rum Sour
2oz RICARDO WHITE RUM (Fat Washed in Andros Coconut Oil)
1oz Goat Pepper & Mango Purée
1.5oz Lychee Juice
1.5oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
Angostura Aromatic Bitters
Glassware: Rocks
Add all ingredients into a shaker tin with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into rocks glass with ice and garnish.
Garnish: Mango Slice, Mint & Dehydrated Lime Wheel
Sparkling Hibiscus & Ginger Switcha
1.5oz Hibiscus Syrup
.5oz Fresh Ginger Juice 1oz Fresh Lime Juice
Top off with Sparkling Coconut Water Glassware: Highball
Garnish: Ginger Slice & Dehydrated Orange Wheel
In a highball glass add ice and build Mocktail by adding all of the ingredients. Once this is done give a gentle stir and garnish.
1). Hibiscus Syrup: Bring 1 Cup of Water, 1 Cup of Sugar and 2 Cups of Hibiscus Flowers to a boil. Let cool and strain into a glass container.
2). Sparkling Coconut Water: Add coconut water to a Soda Siphon and carbonate with Co2 cartridges.
3). Ginger Juice: Place Ginger into an electric juicer or add 3 cups of ginger into a blender with 1 cup of water, blend and strain.
