I hated being in Hati the Royal Caribbean island
The vendor people were rude and too aggressive. The food served was fly infested. We couldn't wait to get back on the ship -
On St Kitts I've had problems with the taxi dispatcher everytime I've been there. On the latest cruise the taxi driver charged me $10 each for me and my wife when the ticket clearly said $7 each.
Eveey time I've told the dispatcher that I want to go to the Shiggidy Shack, he argues that there are better beaches elsewhere.

Cozumel! We were in Cozumel the day after Brad went missing from the Icon and the shooting outside the port. When we arrive there was not much to see other than the people off the ships and the port felt off. We had to hurry to our excursion to the Mayan temple and when we returned to port all the stores were closed and abandon. Only people there were those coming back from off the bus. Super creepy feelings couldn’t wait to get back on the ship. Didn’t learn about Brad till we got home as we too are from Charleston and we’re in port with them in Costa Maya and Roatán. Still has not been found so very sad.

Also port authority on St. Marteen. We asked them to stamp our passports they absolutely refused.
-
Freeport, Nassau
-
Nassau Bahamas, overwhelming people come see this come see this come see this enough already. I’ll come into your shop when I come into your shop that’s it.
-
It’s all about experience. Cozumel, I almost get scammed twice by a cashier and a taxi. Cozumel is slowly turning into Nassau

Jamaica

Jamaica!! We flew to Montego Bay, back in 1990 for our honeymoon-big mistake!! They moved our suitcase 1 foot and put his hand out for a tip- they he told my husband it wasn’t enough- our all inclusive was in Ocho Rios- everyone outside of the resort kept calling everyone’Cheap American’s”
Key West-we loved, felt very welcomed by locals!! Went to the Art Museum and some locals there were very friendly! Also, got a little turned around looking for a restaurant- a young man stopped, in the rain, and asked if we needed directions. Each time we go, we love it there!! -
To be honest most ports of call wife and I just stay on the boat nice and quiet I paid for it and the mega ships like a resort anyway. I been to all these places traveled quite a bit with my job Europe Asia, seen it done it. Also being a Black American there is tons of racism globally esp. in Asia. My company no longer doing business in China, thank goodness it is the worst I would kiss the ground whenever I got back to the States ! Jamaica just plain dangerous not sure why cruise ships still going there, everywhere got worse post COVID, but was trending bad in the Caribbean pre COVID. Cruise lines will have to rethink their itenrarie. Probably more private island stops and protected zones with guys and girls standing around with M4s SMH.
-
Ensenada Mexico primarily at La Bufadora. They are very aggressive and you have to go through the gauntlet to get to the main event. I’ve also had to stand off with a vendor in the downtown area that was hitting my pocket.
-
In Jamaica on an excursion I had to guys want to fight me because I was bigger than them. My wife was like what the heck was that? I'm used to it when you are at a bar and someone gets drunk they always want to fight the big guy.
-
Nassau over St. Kitts for us.
-
None. Have cruised East/west and southern Caribbean.
-
We just got back from Jamaica and i wasn't impressed. Pretty much a third world country.
-
Ocho Rios in Jamaica is by far the worst port I have ever visited in 50 years of cruising, both in the port area and Dunn's Falls. I'm used to aggressive vendors and not particularly bothered by them; but Ocho Rios is the one place that I have actually been afraid for my safety in what should have been "safe" areas. I no longer get off the ship in Ocho Rios.
-
Jamaica, most definitely. We were at a resort in Montego Bay rather than a cruise. As we sat in our lounge chairs on the beach there were men with assault rifles behind us, apparently protecting us from the locals. We were urged to buy "ganga" or nutmeg. Not going back.
-
Tough topic and well-explained. We've been to all of those ports except Key West and I agree with your assessment. They're not bad, but some are just not the friendliest to cruisers.
-
Nassau was a place I've visited before, but recently they have really become extremely rude and unfriendly. A vibe I received was, "I don't need your money" and yet is overly pushy I don't intend to return there.
-
I’d like to see you do a video on island port areas with the most aggressive vendors. I detest that and want to stay clear of it.
-
I have to say Martinique. The French just don’t appreciate nor like US ship visitors to their island. They also don’t take US cash for some transactions. Had to use a credit card
-
Italy Airport I do not speak Italian. Security shoved his machine gun into my ribs South Africa questioned the authenticity of my passportThe big fat one accused me of having surgeryI work out almost every day
-
Jamaica very aggressive
-
St Thomas not a fan been there three times and had a bad experience each time.
-
I have been to all of the ports you named and, so far haven’t had any problems.
-
Thank you for the list. I am disappointed in Key West.
-
but they like the money
-
Worst we've experienced was Cartegena, Columbia
-
HAMILTON BERMUDA was fantastic. Men sitting on park benches with brown paper bags. An older woman from our ship asked them for directions!! Can you believe that? Well these men acted like true gentlemen and politely gave her the required directions. We were dicked there for the week and those guys just smiled politely and kept to themselves. I kept looking for the undercover cops but never saw any. Gentlemen come in many versions, I guess.
-
I love Cabo, but the last time we went the vendors were VERY aggressive. A lady actually started putting an iguana on my wife’s shoulder as we were walking by and had told her we didn’t want to hold it.
-
A couple of years ago, my friend and I, who were both women in our late seventies at the time, were walking around Belize City enjoying the ambiance. Our enjoyment was curtailed a bit when a local older man with dreadlocks approached us to say “Go home, white trash!” Being from large cities (Denver and New Orleans) with urban problems, racial inequities, etc. we were not particularly alarmed by this rather rude, but innocuous incident. We trudged along to a dive bar where we were welcomed and felt quite comfortable.
We felt safe walking around since we were among locals who were smiling as they went about their business. On the other hand, if this kind of encounter would upset you, skip the city and take a cruise excursion.
-
I agree with your list except for Belize because I've never been there. I would add Grand Turk to the list. I have no desire to ever go back there.
-
Definitely Key West. Outside workers were very rude and demanding.
-
Haiti
-
Jamaica, Ensenada, Nassau. We are going in a few weeks on a cruise that stops in Ensenada-we will not be getting off the ship!
-
Jamaica is my no:1 unfriendly port . We just yogot out of the ship they’re already harassing us to take a cab and see the city every 5 feet
-
𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱?

Bahamas and Greece. Raised to be unfailingly polite and alway with a big smile and compliment about their lovely country…..
Nothing worked in these two destinations! But the worst of the two? Bahamas! -
Rhodes!..shop keepers soo nasty to Americans. & street performers rip tourists off w no polic
-
Italy. Is very rude
-
ANYWHERE in JAMAICA , will never return , or if one of the ports stopping at then I will stay onboard for sure , its safer there
-
Falmouth Jamaica is one port that if we ever return we will stay on the ship or not leave the terminal. Bad vibes in that town.
-
Thank you
-
Juneau did not recently decide to cap passengers. They decided to listen to the public comment and to vote on it for Saturday. I agree they are rude as hell, but don’t distribute incorrect information…but the haircut says “who cares?” Never heard of this channel, but after 3:17, I don’t think I need to return either.
-
I definitely agree with Belize and Jamicia
-
This year we loved Juneau . Beliz i want to visit not going through Beliz city .
Galveston the luggage men who work there have all been rude , seen them skip handicap customers ..just becausex..3 cruises in a row. -
st maarten the French side is the worst for me I'm jamaican but I'm not mad some jamaicans can be crazy

When we stayed at a condo on St Thomas we heard how they talk about cruisers. They even raise their prices. Now with that being said, we watched cruisers destroy shops in Bar Harbor ME. They would throw T-shirts on the floor if they didn’t want them or anywhere on the surrounding tables. We watch some cruisers get testy with waitstaff. So maybe this goes both ways
