where was John Barnard's Ferrari satellite office
-
Love the video, as always, but is it me or are the YouTube adverts getting worse? 25 second unskippable ones in each section….
-
I had never really considered why it is the home of F1, Britain just is; wonder what impact, if any, Audi's involvement will have at Hinwil 🏎
-
AMAZING ❤
-
definitely most watched top gear special was the vietnam special in our house, probably why my brother ended up wanting to go to vietnam so much, we had that one on DVD.

East Midlands Airport… Maybe..
For those who don't know, East Midlands Airport upto the 90's used to be the subject of many jokes as it was pretty much nothing more than a shed and runway.
Jasper Carrot (Legendary Brummie Comedian) used to joke East Midlands was the only Airport with a cattle grid.
-
I think India and Pakistan think cricket is sport as well. If the West Indies were a real country they might as well.
-
Botswana special gave us Oliver, nough said.
-
Yes, that was very interesting. My favourite Top Gear…..too many to choose from. & thanks for noticing Aussies love cricket. It's probably the only sport where we can beat everyone.
-
My favourite Top Gear challenge is the 2 door coupé and all 3 turn up in similar BMW 3 series coupés.
Richard Hammond having traces of poo 💩 in his car after the Forensics have a go at them -
My favorite top gear cheap car challenge was the rwd challenge in France. The 944s2, 300zx, Capri. My favorite bigger special would be the first Africa special, Opel cadet, lancia beta coupe and Mercedes w123

My nearest track is jus north of York if I'm not mistaken, I believe it is that one that was on the rebooted Top Gear, when Flintoff got Stig as a codriver through York and to said track! Silverstone may be home turf, but it's not my local, nor is Brand's Hatch for that matter! Or Snetterton!
It all jus reminds me of that one northern joke: "What's the best thing to come out of London? The M1, it takes you all the way to Leeds!"
As for challenge? It might be a touch of birthday bias, especially with it coming up, but I'd have to say the Botswana Special Taking that Merc, Oliver and the Lancia Beta Coupé across that terrain, and with the scenery, especially that moon shot! And it alerted me to the embodiment of black air force energy that is the honey badger! Both being Brits, we know about badgers, don't we? But honey badgers?

Probably the most interesting video you've done. So much information which I didn't know about, but do now. Thank you for that. And I love your shirt too 😂
-
My nephew is just about to start the course in Milton Keynes and the college and courses and extra funding are from F1 teams so most of the people that attend end up in F1, motor racing or car-related things in the UK.
Maybe Aidan you should make a video on that area as well?

13:30 When at university I worked for a small courier company when not at university and we could go all day delivering and collecting just from motorsport teams or their suppliers – you be surprised how many parts were built by small companies and supplied to everyone and added to that for them to work they needed tool makers, suppliers and designers themselves.
-
I hate when people are good at stuff and we instead of celebrating that focus on where they are from…
-
Of course it was the ambulance because of the stretcher canon!
-
Africa was the best one for me. You can’t fake the entertainment in that.
-
Don’t say that about Cricket with the Indians and Pakistani’s around. They’ll go for your throat
-
Favorite Top Gear episode is the Vietnam special. Period.
-
Ahem, Vanwall?
-
1:35 "What was your favorite Top Gear feature or special?" It absolutely has to be the the Reliant Robin Space Shuttle. No contest.
-
My favourite TG challenge would be the train one, if for no other reason than when they're going back down the line after the first failed attempt, Hammond is looking back going "you're good, you're good, you're good, you're good…"
-
Such a great episode, getting the helicopter look is always revealing
-
British Bias doesn't exist. If it did 2021 would have finished as it was legally supposed to.

There is an area in Czechia, in north-east-central Bohemia (upper right to Prague), where there rail network isn't very developed. The network is still relatively dense (it's still Czechia we're talking about), but it's low speed and low volume. The Mladá Boleslav stations are so small they don't even have underpasses. Reason? It's the Škoda Auto town. That area of Labe valley is the motor valley, full of their subcontractors.
-
What might be a future problem is that so many of the feeder formulae are single make and Dallara in Italy is pre-eminant, we no longer have Lola and March producing racing cars, so the business is now top heavy and might topple.
-
My race car's roll cage was built in Daventry, just west of Northampton, and the car itself was built in Swindon.
Motorsports valley, as you say, has made its way to Canada.
I'd also love to point out just how much smaller the British economy in general would be without motorsports.
-
awesome video, love stuff like this. My favourite Top Gear feture is the "we don't make stuff annymore…but we do" one and the on where Mika Hakkinen teaches James May how to Folk race and rally
-
Thanks Aidan! I had always wondered how Britain had become the place where F1 happens. If there's a British bias in the sport, I haven't noticed it. I guess because I'm not looking for it, perhaps.
-
You're also good at acting in Britain
-
yellow pins with yellow borders are really hard to see ! The pins in the map should probably be red ! yeah, red works really well for Northern Italy, don't really want British Racing Green Pins in England, they'd be even harder to see than the yellow ones !
-
The BL challenge is by far my favourite. The history, the references – everything about it.
