I am sorry to all the Females out there – but none of you will ever be more good looking that the tomcat…

Anyone else here the Top Gun theme music 😂… I am in the need, the need for speed.

Technically jet engines dont require subsonic airflow for combustion, just the reasonable ones do. Scramjets (and shcramjets for that matter) have the combustion take place in a *super*sonic airflow. It does require you to already be at near hypersoni (mach 4+) speeds to even ignite, and has a very short list of current uses (read experimental weapon systems).

For every 1 hour flying, 30-60 hours of maintenance. Thats insane!

Search YouTube is cramming so many ads on to your videos I'm giving you a thumbs down and going to block your feed from my channel.

Wow, good job democrats, John Kerry, Jane Fonda, Obama, Clinton’s, bidens, harissas etc… show and sell all the world are military secrets and advantages

It's ironic.. It's ironic how much energy we spend on war instead of trying to cooperate… You know, hundreds of the most brilliant humans of their time, all just speeding their energy and thoughts on creating a better machine to destroy ourself and others.

There are many BLATANT factual errors in this so-called "real engineering" video…but let's look at one that insinuates bigotry/politics/bias rather than the whole truth. @15:57 you claim, quote, "(the Phoenix) was rarely used outside of testing." That is blatantly false. It is well known that even the initial lot of Phoenix missiles (AIM-54A) were used to exhaustion by the Iranians during the Iran/Iraq war. It is also well-known that its hit rate inn that war approached a mind-boggling 100%. Indeed, one of the diversions used by the US Air Force, in their F-15 vs F-14 ramblings, involves their 'number of kills' propaganda; they (the US Air Force and McDonald-Douglas) don't want to talk about the Iranian F-14A and the Phoenix version used . . . and those P&W TF-30 dumpster fires . . . and still scored over 180 kills versus Iraqi Migs and Mirages, etc.

Would be cool if you do a video about the a 10 thunderbolt.

And I still don't know what those back rectangles over the air intakes do.

Awesome movie, but I would like to hear also about it's 28bit computer, which was also a marvel on its own.

The video has ended and I'm still waiting to hear Danger Zone

Your diagram and flow comparison treats the air intake as if it's a closed pipe. The flow restrictor would cause a bow wave in front of the intake mouth which is why this restriction can lower air speed instead of increasing it

    F/A-18 next!!!

Excellent video as always! I wish you took a little time to describe the incredible (for the time) flight computer that was installed on the F-14. It was by far the most advanced system ever installed on a plane at that time.

Man, only white people can figure stuff out like this. It was evident so long ago though. Even their music was music was more intricate than any other culture long before things like K-Pop.

Anyone else other than me hearing this right now?

“There’s a raging fire in my heart tonight!
Growing higher and higher in my soul!
There’s a raging fire in the sky tonight!
I wanna ride on the silver dove far until the night!

“ ‘Til I make you take me on your Mighty Wings!
Make you take me on your Mighty Wings across the sky!
Take me on your Mighty Wings!
Take me on your Mighty Wings, tonight!”

I recall the days at Lambert field as a Kid on Saturday Morning watching take-offs standing feet away from the runway….What a great time!
