This video emphasizes the murders that Jones’s “enforcers” committed on the night of November 18, 1978. However, “murder-suicide” is still the best epithet for the events of that night, since a frighteningly large number of Jones’s followers—like those parents who killed their own children, before joining them in death—readily obeyed Jone’s orders. (The Encyclopedia Britannica entry for “Jonestown” has this subtitle: “mass murder-suicide, Guyana [1978]”.) When outsiders flew over Jonestown the next day, they believed at first that they were looking at sacks of clothing left outside, since there were no signs of struggle and no bloody corpses. The bodies were lying in orderly groups, some embracing each other.

Wikipedia’s entry, “Jonestown,” gives a fairly detailed history and analysis of the massacre, including the “rehearsals” for “revolutionary suicide” ordered by Jones in the weeks leading up to the night of horror. Jonestown is a study in miniature of a deranged autocracy, with examples of the madness that such a society produces: a paranoid leader, a number of dedicated “soldiers” willing to follow any order given by that leader, and a large mass of frightened, confused, deluded followers. There were even a few resisters—the first to be murdered.

He just told people what they wanted to hear or were afraid to hear whether it was true or not.
Double genocide theory is a common strategy of the USA propaganda machine to conflate communism with fascism when of course fascism is just capitalism with its friendly illusion of choice removed.
Communism can only be rejected through misrepresentation of it and likewise capitalism can only be accepted through misrepresentation of it.

The most common tactic to attack communism is to misrepresent what it really is and attack that misrepresentation.
Capitalism, $ itself in all its modes of production across history, thrives on objective deception misrepresented as truth through hiding objective value, starting with its own objective deception, and misrepresenting value for self gain at the expense of another (profit) by engaging in arbitrary relative values.

People set the values of money, they don't set themselves. Money is designed to misrepresent value, not measure value, thats actual science instead.

You are just going to ignore through the whole video that it was a Christian cult and insert your RWNJ rhetoric and accusations without validating any of your claims? Typical RWNJ.

Sadly, there are some similarities to the Trump cult here.

What is so bizarre is that Jim Jones was a self-declared atheist, you can read the transcripts of him saying all kinds of insane megalomaniac stuff. 1970s leftism was so gullible when it came to a person posed as some kind of socialist, he was sheer evil.
