The big question is can a couple live decent in Punta Cana like you do for 51k a year? How much do you actually need for a couple live good in Punta Cana?

Im Dominican and this is no way

You can save on car insurance considering the car you're driving. A beefed up seguro de ley from a reputable insurance company (with defensa jurídica) should be more than enough and cost less than half. It's a drop in the bucket considering your other expenses though 😂

Your house would probably cost $2500 unfurnished per month. So if you stay longer than two years, then I recommend you rent an unfurnished house and furniture yourself

Hey, I’m from Detroit. Hope I meet you one day when I’m in Punta Cana.

Love the videos. Hoping to retire there in 5 years. Are you still renting or did you purchase a villa?

Im thinking of moving to DR but to the country side. Would you consider interviewing someone that moved to the country side, possibly with a young child?

Fantastic job, you are truly the best, retirement has to be affordable, do you help people with relocation or stirring us to the right people.?

My wife and I love your content. We just bought a villa in Cabarete (actually building) and looking to retire there once the youngest child leaves home.

    Hey @thejamiegruber, here's another 🇩🇴 Dominican 🇩🇴 living abroad.

This is my take after going through the comments here:

Is US$51K a lot of money to move to DR? Yes! That's more than a yearly salary for an average person in USA.

Would anyone do it way cheaper? Yes, of course!

But what some commenters here seem to not realize is that this is HIS AND HIS FAMILY'S experience. Each one of us has different expectations, different needs, different circumstances, different taste and preferences, and most importantly, the almighty budget that will set your level of tolerance of what you will accept (or not) as your future lifestyle in a different country that you are moving your whole family into.

I can only dream about spending $51K and being able to explain it so calmly in a YouTube video without suffering a thrombosis at the first minute of the video 😂 but instead of coming here and throw shade on this man I prefer to see it as true inspiration and take notes, they might come handy someday.

Anyway, enough ranting. Keep the good work Jamie 👍

4k for a house that large is oretry reasonable. A 2200 sq ft house where I live is around $3200-$3500. How much would a 1800/2200sqft home where you cost?

    Great video.

Why the school is that much money.

I love this idea of moving to DR. I’m retiring from the military, wife and I are considering moving to DR when I’m out of the service. I would love to connect with you to get some guidance but I don’t have a social media platform. Anyways thx so much for the info!!
