NO MORE FISH IN THE SEA AND WE WOULD FLOAT IN THE SEA I.E. PREVENT DROWNING OF PEOPLE IF THE SALT BRINE WAS DUMPED BACK INTO THE SEA. HOW MANY PEOPLE DIE FROM DROWNING EACH YEAR? HOW MANY DIE FROM CAR CRASHES?

Which golf ?? There is a name for golf .you don't know ?!

Why can't they make salt in the desert under hot sun as biproduct, where brine is not good for sea

It sounds like an overpopulation problem. They should use common sense and not have so many kids.

Humans are polluting earth with so many different kinds of incredibly dangerous chemicals at a speed that is very scary. Cancer rates are going to continue to climb. Birth defects will climb too. There are solutions but no one seems to care.

People in the Gulf region consume vast amounts of water for drinking and household use, ranking among the highest in the world. This high consumption is largely due to the extreme heat that defines the climate in these countries. While someone in Europe might go several days without needing a shower because of the cooler weather, a person in the Gulf might need to shower twice a day during the summer due to the intense heat. Furthermore, agriculture in the region relies heavily on desalinated, groundwater, or treated water because of the scarcity of rainfall, surface water, and the high evaporation rates caused by the extreme temperatures. In essence, life in the Gulf is somewhat akin to life on Mars!

dude, just be straightforward with the theme, you dont need to talk about history/craft of/motive, you are talk about the biggest desalination plants should not exist, soo u meed to talk point a, b and z about this crap. Dont act like you are creating a video for your doctor diploma. Dislike the video.

I don't get it, is LCOE solar not the cheapest dorm of energy, even better than oil?🤷 Or maybe not?

I would assume that in the future we will find more and more ways what to do with the brine. Instead treating it as wastage, filtering out minerals/metals and any scrap of hydrogen still in it. I think it was last year when a news broke from MIT that had found a few new filtering methods to economivly extract a few more substances from brine.

As soon as you referenced Elon Musk you lost me.

Great analysis and presentation. However Saudi Arabia and UAE have the successful experience with these systems and your criticism is not prudent or appropriate. Whatever technology I am confident Saudi Arabia and UAE have made the best decisions and as such enjoy amazing success.

funny, how no one tryed to pump seawater into the desert proper, create a colossal roof over it to collect condensate, above&salt, below.
"pan eh see ah"..not "pen ass ee ah"

Solar panels can create a roof over the desert
,one may get crazy&fill the space underword
    with water

It always mystified me why human beings do not care about their existing sources of clean water, and instead of fighting climate change to conserve it, they rather a multi-billion dollar process that requires an entire fucking power plant lmao. It's like the people who think climate change isn't a problem because it means more beach front property. Completely unfazed by the fact the ocean is literally eating their land and they're running out of drinking water and space.

I remember seeing the plant in malta and thinking how did we do this in 1881 and africa still can't get water

Good video as always, but I have never heard anybody call them "fabs". Considering the water is treated, not "fabricated", it does not make sense to use that word. They are properly referred to as "plants" because they are treatment plants. A simple Google search for "desalination fabs" gives us results for "desalination plants".

9:28. MSF is still the best option for GCC because they use waste energy rejected from the power plants. The energy used is almost free.

RO main problem is its need to mechanical energy.

You say those plants should not exist, but what do you offer instead?!

10 to 25 kWh per m3 water is crazy efficient. that's 40 to 100 MJ per m3 heat of evaporation of water at standard atmospheric pressure is about 2200 MJ per m3 ! also my rooftop (18) solar panels in NL could desalinate 300 to 700 m3 per year

15% of total oil production to make water is absolutely insane. Just mind boggling.

I love that most of you idiots live in large cities and will need this.
