Love them both, but plz watchmakers listen up : thin watches are better watches!

I'm curious about what you think of the twelve from Christopher Ward, or the chronograph version of the Tissot with the valjoux movement.

The Swatch group is shooting the Swiss watch industry in the foot!

The F77 is almost twice the price of the PRX, though. Not what I would call a fair comparison. Comparing Nivada's F77 with a MAEN Manhattan 37 would be more apt.

For me the PRX just looks very generic as a bog standard rehash of a typical watch of the 1970s; it has nothing special about its appearance…and the quality looks about at the level of an entry level Seiko or Citizen. In a few years the Genta craze will pass and the PRX will look dated again. For $400 the PRX does not seem cheap…beyond brand hype.

Sold my RPX as soon as I knew about plastic component, plus it has lower and lower wrist time lately. I been a month now I kinda miss it now it's gone, but I can't get ride of the idea that it could die at any moment by faulty plastics. I don't have integrated bracelet watch anymore, I could go for a sporty Tudor North Flag or Royal, I don't feel connected to F77, if still go for a Tissot the PRX Chronograph or the fun PRX Quartz white dial full lumed. Of course Oyesterquartz would be cool to have.

How much did Nivada pay you?

This is prx hate club in here. They’re beautiful watches and have gotten me into them. And hope upgrade soon

Now they have a new F77. In Titanium and one with a meteorite dial.

Unless the bracelet and clasp are practically flawless, I don’t think I’ll ever buy an integrated bracelet watch.

Tissot now is so overwhelmingly meh.

Lol 😂 I wonder if tgv likes Tissot!

The PRX's design stands on its own in spite of the obvious AP Royal Oak influences.

The Nivada's case and bezel straight up look like a rip-off of the AP. Hard pass.

It looks more like. Cpaek 🎉

Arrgh, the chessboard! The right-hand square nearest you should be white.
Sorry, as a chess nerd this is a pet-peeve of mine. Use the mnemonic 'Right-White' to remember this.
With that out of the way… great video as always! Thank you.

Yes Tristano, another one of these with the Christopher Ward The Twelve vs the Yema Wristmaster please!

I don't understand bashing Tissot and especially PRX.

    Integrated bracelet watches:
I'm relatively new to watches, and Tissot got me into watches. When I saw PRX, it called to me. I didn't even know it was called an integrated bracelet watch. knowing nothing about this group I fell in love with. This design language is still relative to people, and there's no doubt about it.

What is a mechanical watch for me?
A mechanical watch is a timekeeping device that doesn't contain any electronics, can be used reliably, and is not just a toy on the shelf or jewelry on the wrist. The more water-resistant, EMF-resistant, shock-resistant, and accurate, the better. I'm not a fan of overengineering. For daily wear, 10 bar wr is enough.

    Powermatic C07.111 and SW200:
This is the 2824 movement with a plastic escapement and a TITANIUM hairspring. Sure, plastic is not as good as silicon, but how bad is it? No one knows for a fact if it's actually bad. Yes, it's dangerously close to fraud, I agree, but is it "bad"? IDK. Human assembly adds flair to the movement but doesn't matter to me. Replacing movement instead of repairing it doesn't matter to me unless the movement is very rare, in-house, and expensive, like a discontinued patek, and even then, if they can remake the component, I'd prefer that to simply repairing it if I can afford it. Recycling materials and avoiding waste production is important for me if I can afford it, but I think movement materials are recyclable, I guess? not sure; correct me if you know more. What I see on the internet is that regulating a C07.xxx, while annoying, is not impossible. When I look at it, I see a fairly accurate and EMF-resistent movement with a plastic escapement that I don't like. Checks all the boxes. SW200 is a good movement, isn't antimagnetic, and can be accurate. I'm not willing to play with my watch as my hobby and adjust it whenever it becomes inaccurate, so I want it to stay accurate for the longest period possible. And I don't want to find out that my watch is magnetized by arriving at a meeting an hour early, so yes, I appreciate the EMF resistance as much as it offers. I wish Tissot had used C07.811 instead of C07.111, but what can I do? The only thing I really don't understand is why Swatch ditched strong torque for longer power reserves. Maybe reduced shock resistance is insignificant because, for sure, a longer power reserve helps release energy in a more linear manner and stay accurate throughout the 3 days? I don't know. I still don't see why you bash this movement so badly.

    Design:
If Nivada has designed this watch after the release of PRX, congratulations on fixing the already existing product's design flaws and producing something better in some ways. I prefer MEAN watches though, but it's a personal preference.

No, this is not the best budget option for R.O. Is Carier Santos a joke to you?

The difference in price is 2 times, watch is great , if you got budget

Oo I'm dropping that dad joke Hugo dropped on my kiddo asap. So cheesy 😀

I'm a huge Nivada Grenchen fan. Way too overlooked. I think the Chronoking Paul Newman, quartz or automatic, are the most beautiful chronographs out there. Great vid.

So you are recommending for us to pay $600 more to purchase a watch that only watch experts are familiar with over a Tissot that is much more recognized? If luxury brand recognition is not important just person a designer brand watch like an Armani, Boss, or Hugo Boss for about $150. If you want quality a Seiko or Citizen will perform as well as a Tissot or Nivada.

As a Rolex and Omega owner, I adore my Powermatic PRX.

I love the F77 but I have a 6.25-6.5 inch wrist so I’m afraid the lug-to-lug will be too big. It looks pretty okay in this video on your 6.5 inch wrist but there aren’t enough angles for me to pull the trigger on this watch. I have a mostly flat wrist which might help tho. What do you think?

    The Tissot Problematic.

The f77 is double the price, hardly a fair comparison

Apples to bowling balls in my opinion. We're comparing the PRX to a watch that is literally twice, or more, the cost depending on what iteration you go with, and to a watch that does not have larger case size offering. I shutter to think what Tissot could do with a $1500 price range.

I don’t think the prx is so bad. It’s a lot of people’s skx, their gateway drug to the hobby. And I’m glad it’s getting more people to wear and talk about watches. Sure the tissot may just be a better packaged system51 but it’s a watch that people enjoy and I’m always believed in wearing what makes you happy.

Not impressed by the Nivada design. Looks generic and unrefined. The finishing is good but that's not enough.

Would love to hear thoughts on the czapek antarctique. I personally think it’s dead drop gorgeous and unique.

I honestly didn't mind the look of the PRX, but it just didn't,….i don't know, …..excite me enough to buy it. I hadn't seen the Nivada Grenchen F77 before this video and WOW, It's gorgeous. I can get the Tissot for around $1000 here in Australia, so it's in my (poor mans) budget. But the NIvada Grenchen is around $2100, and I'm inspired to save for it. Dare I say, I even personally, like the design more than the Royal Oak, honestly.

Bro I reckon your scales might be broken, surely these watches weigh more than that 😂

I own an Oysterquartz as the only integrated bracelet watch and it surprisingly gets more wrist time than I expected when first bought it a year ago . Integrated bracelet idea wasn’t my thing until I’ve tried few examples – undoubtably Nautilus was the most comfortable and elegant looking on my wrist ,but the price of course… My next purchase will almost definitely be Nivada F77 as it looks wicked and history behind its development just appeals to me . Thanks for the review – informative and sophisticated,as always

I absolutely love the powermatic 80 especially in the anthracite dial tissot and the silicium… thanks tug for making me feel like a novice idiot helping put watchmakers (my dream job) out of work…gonna go cry myself to sleep now😢

    Why we are here. Cheers!

I missed this video upon its release, but just found it when trying to search for some F77 reviews. Yours was excellent, with great points brought up (as usual). I am tempted by the new Lapis Lazuli and even the titanium meteorite models, but have not gotten to try one on in person. The PRX is a nice looking watch (especially that light blue), but ultimately I find the 40mm feels too big on my 7-inch wrist and the 35mm is too small. I've been contemplating the Christopher Wars Twelve as well, which wears very comfortably on my wrist with its 40mm size, unlike the PRX. The new F77 releases just made my choice more difficult, but your video is helping me figure out what I want.

How about a video comparing the Girard Perregaux Laureato in blue, Zenith defy skyline in blue, and the Nivada F77 in blue starting Hugo Mountbatten?

this is not a royal oak and not even remotely close, people act as if this is a pagani design copy… these have their own design
